We are a Helsinki based company specializing in mural painting and advertising murals, bringing together top professionals from various creative fields in Finland and Sweden. In addition to world-class painters, our team includes graphic designers, photographers, brand builders, media professionals and social sector professionals. We are not just a group of artists, but a team that understands brands and how they are built.

Our Story
Something new and unique is only created by experimenting.
FunkOn’s story began more than a decade ago, when the era of gray thinking, i.e. zero tolerance for graffiti and street art, ended. Then, a group of street-culture pioneers decided to join forces and built the first authorized graffiti wall in Häme. This was the beginning of a journey that took us from commissioned murals and graffiti workshops to the implementation of national and international projects.
Our journey has accommodated a lot of changes and countless paintings. We have grown into a Nordic team where top professionals from various creative fields carry out their work with passion.
The walls have expanded from local to international and individuals have become a team. But the most important thing has remained from the beginning: meaning.
When doing passion work, we often ask ourselves: why are we doing this? What makes us paint through the night in the pouring rain in Stockholm? What motivates us to fight with urban bureaucracy and complex licensing issues? Why do we spend hundreds of hours on art activities in special-education schools? Money? Ambition? Maybe a little bit of that too – but above all, it’s about wanting to make happen what’s really important to us and everyone else:

FunkOn is something that has never been seen before in Finland or anywhere in the world. Combining artistry and commercial advertising is a challenging equation in itself. When it is combined with a social angle in the form of youth work, volunteering and charity, something really special is created. That’s how FunkOn came about.
Where we are now is already more than we would have believed ten years ago. And where we will be in ten years is something no one can even guess yet. However, our vision is clear: we will be an internationally significant player in building a new kind of media field. We want to work with interesting and relevant brands and help them stand out from their competitors. In addition to business, we want to create social good for future generations and inspire other companies to do the same.
